Del, with her bangs and big brown eyes, lives with her hot-head, motor-mouth, alcoholic father (Dean Winters) and Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dummer brothers (Jon and Jamie Champagne). There’s not a lot of love in this town, something that Ciara Bravo's acid-tongued, potty-mouthed, surly wise-cracker Del (short for Delilah, but don't call her that) knows all too well. Wayne, the eponymous character played by Sing Street’s Mark McKenna, is a 16-year-old from Brockton, Massachusetts. It's the paid-for part of the platform’s concerted commitment to original programming in an attempt to rival the likes of Netflix and Amazon, and it's really throwing out some good stuff. Wayne is the latest product of YouTube Premium, the platform formally known as YouTube Red and responsible for that rather good Karate Kid spin-off Cobra Kai. ![]() This dark comedy is layered with lashings of action, Tarantino-esque violence and moments that make your heart sink and soar, sometimes simultaneously. Well, Wayne smashes through all this noise, demanding your attention, wrestling it from you with guts and gumption. ![]()
